The tools and methods where our experience runs the deepest.

JavaScript

Our most interesting work has been done in JavaScript developing rich interfaces. We develop many of our web applications to appear as if they were desktop applications even though they run in a web browser. Consequently, our applications have a responsiveness not seen in most web applications.

We code directly in JavaScript using various JavaScript libraries, rather than with tools like the Google Web Toolkit, to take advantage of the flexibility of the JavaScript language.

PHP, Perl, and Lisp

For the past seven years we have written and maintained applications in Perl using mod_perl and FastCGI.

In the past five years, our focus has gradually shifted to PHP. The majority of our new server-side development is done in PHP. We typically use the symfony framework for larger projects and our own web application library for smaller projects.

We also have several years’ of experience designing and maintaining Lisp applications. We have deployed and do maintain applications on PLT and Steel Bank.

Solaris and Linux

While we have and do work with Windows and .NET, Noein’s knowledge is deepest in UNIX development. Originally, our infrastructure was run exclusively on Solaris. We have now integrated Linux into our business, and it has become our primary environment. We deploy our own applications on Debian and Ubuntu and maintain Red Hat installations for clients.

Process Makes Perfect

Software projects routinely fail due to bad planning and management. We've spent the last seven years refining our process.
